UCO president search narrowed to 8 candidates

EDMOND — Eight people will be interviewed this month for the job of president of the University of Central Oklahoma.

The Board of Regents for the Regional University System of Oklahoma narrowed the field of candidates in a meeting Monday. Regents declined to reveal any details about the eight candidates selected for interviews.

"The confidentiality of our search process helps to create a broad and highly qualified applicant pool," said Regent Mark Stansberry, chairman of the board.

"Experienced and well-qualified candidates are more willing to be considered in presidential search processes when they are given the freedom to explore the opportunity without having to disclose their candidacy," Stansberry said.
